Threshold Monthly Newsletter
March 2025
Message from the Editorial Team
Welcome to the twelfth newsletter from Threshold!
In March, we wrote 46 news pieces and 5 articles.
Welcome to the March edition of the Threshold Monthly Newsletter. This month's updates on flight simulation are exciting! The FSWeekend event showcased numerous announcements, updates, and progress regarding various products, both in hardware and software. We had a fantastic time at FSWeekend, enjoying the great atmosphere and meeting wonderful people. As we reflect on the highlights from FSWeekend, we also look ahead to FSExpo 2025.
Threshold Needs Your Support!
Threshold has always been powered by the community, built by volunteers who believe in delivering high-quality, independent flight simulation news, reviews, and discussions. But keeping it all running has a high monthly cost - from website hosting, to forum maintenance, and editorial content.
Beyond these essential costs, we also want to send our team to events like FSExpo, FSWeekend, and other key gatherings. These events are where the flight simulation world comes together, and being there in-person allows us to bring you firsthand coverage, interviews, and insights. But attending these expos is expensive - flights, hotels, and equipment all add up quickly. We simply don’t have the budget to make it happen right now.
We’ve set up a Patreon where you can help us sustain Threshold and support our ability to cover these events. Even small monthly donations make a huge difference:

If you can’t contribute financially, you can still help by:
Spreading the word - share this with fellow simmers
Disabling ad blockers on our site to support ad revenue
Purchasing add-ons through the Threshold Store
Threshold has always been about community. If you have ideas, suggestions, or skills that could help us grow and sustain the platform, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out on our Discord or Forum.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether through Patreon, sharing our work, or simply engaging with us, your support keeps Threshold alive. We appreciate you!

Editor’s Choice Article
This month, Anders had the opportunity to review the FlightFX Piaggio P.180 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. In his initial review, he thoroughly tested the twin wing-mounted turboprop engines. The aircraft has a distinctive appearance, making it easily recognizable. Packed with features, Anders conducted an in-depth examination of everything it has to offer. |
Top Freeware Of The Month
This month, Sem travelled to Greece, specifically to the island of Crete. He explored Heraklion Airport in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, created by JasonGR. Although the airport is set to cease operations in 2027, it boasts a rich history. The freeware scenery is packed with features, making it an excellent choice to experience before the new Kasteli Airport takes over in a few years. |

We are excited to announce that the JustFlight F28 Professional has been updated to the highly anticipated V2 version. This new update introduces compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, along with a variety of new features and bug fixes. Best of all, this update is free for all existing V1 owners.

The most noticeable feature of the new version is its compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
