Threshold Monthly Newsletter

January 2026

Message from the Editorial Team

Welcome to the twenty-third newsletter from Threshold!
In January, we wrote a total of 38 news pieces and four articles.

Welcome to the latest edition of the Threshold Monthly Newsletter, covering the activities of January 2026. While this month hasn't been the busiest, there has still been significant activity within the flight simulator community.

MK Studios released Rome Fiumicino V2 for MSFS 2020/2024, and TFDI launched a major update for its MD-11 for MSFS 2020/2024. Additionally, iniBuilds updated its A340 Airliner for MSFS 2024 to include a VIP variant. FlyTampa also released Las Vegas V3 for MSFS 2024, and iniBuilds debuted Dallas Fort Worth International Airport for MSFS 2024, among other updates.

We hope February brings just as much, if not more, activity. As always, we will keep you updated.

We're hiring!

We're looking for new writers to join the Threshold editorial team!
Strong English skills and a passion for flight sim are what matter most. Prior experience is great, but not required.

We’re especially in need of news writers, but all types of contributors are welcome. Weekly activity is ideal, and we aim to build a consistent, stable crew — so if you’ve got time and motivation, we want to hear from you.

At the beginning of January, Magnus shared his review of the Honeycomb Lite Series, focusing on both the Alpha Flight Controls Lite and the Bravo Flight Controls Lite. He examined how these Lite versions compare to their more expensive counterparts. Magnus thoroughly explored the features of each unit, contrasted them with the older Alpha Flight Controls and Bravo Flight Controls, and provided a detailed conclusion about both models.

In the final episode of No Money Mondays for January, Anders decided to visit China to explore Kui’s rendition of Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport (ZGDY) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. This scenery package features highly detailed buildings, terminal interiors, and more. Nestled among the Wuling Mountains, the airport offers a breathtaking destination for flights.

STORE NEWS

If you have found value in what we do at Threshold over the years, there is now a direct way to support the platform while getting yourself some quality clothing in the process.

We have introduced a range of t-shirts and hoodies through the Threshold Store. The revenue from these items helps fund our editorial work, community forums, events, and everything else that keeps Threshold independent and free from advertising pressure. Every purchase is a genuine contribution to keeping things running.

The collection consists of two styles: Baseline and Baseline+. Both are constructed from premium 100 per cent cotton and designed to last. The Baseline range takes a minimal approach, with understated branding that works well for everyday wear. The Baseline+ versions go further, with a bold rear logo for those who want to make a more visible statement.

We have not pursued merchandise for the sake of it. These are genuinely well made pieces, available in seven colours and sizes from Small through to 5XL. T-shirts are 32.99 USD and hoodies are 49.99 USD. Worldwide shipping is available.

If you want to support Threshold and have something practical to show for it, the Baseline collection is available now in the store. Thank you if you do.

We are looking for artists to help us shape the next collection. Please make contact with us if want to be a part of this journey.
